Why did you become a Physio?
I have always had an interest in sport which further amplified after I made the switch from playing Netball to Football (Soccer). I pursued this interest with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science before completing my Physiotherapy degree and have never looked back since.
What do you love about being a Physio?
Understanding how the mechanics of the body play a role in preventing, managing, and treating injuries. Allowing this information to educate and guide patients to assist them in living a happy and healthy lifestyle, and return back to the activities they love to do. As an athlete myself, I have a special interest in sporting injuries in particular ankle sprains and ACL rehabilitation. Those population groups who undertake sport i.e., gym and sports are a main interest of mine, however post-operative patients and working with children follow closely behind.
